Taylor, Taylor and Everyone Else
Valentines Day is the perfect time of the year to be corny and lovey-dovey with your significant other. Every girl wants her boyfriend to fulfill that love story fantasy by decorating her bedroom with balloons, rose pedals, chocolates and end the day by accompanying her to the sappiest movie she could possibly get her hands on.
The new movie release, Valentine’s Day, was the perfect movie to go to see on this romantic holiday. Fortunately, this movie isn’t just geared towards the ladies. With the sense of comedy it has, men can enjoy it just as much.
In Valentine’s Day, every famous actor you could possibly think of plays a role. From Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx and to even Taylor Swift, each of these actors had an amazing performance.
Reed (Ashton Kutcher) plays a timid florist deliveryman who decides to try and make his proposal to his girlfriend, Morley (Jessica Alba), extra special by doing so on Valentine’s Day. For some reason, it seems as though Morley is a bit skeptical about the whole proposal by explaining how she would like it kept a secret.
Up in the air on a plane is Captain Kate (Julia Roberts) and Holden (Bradley Cooper) who are complete strangers but seem to have a instant connection. Their background stories are hard to decifer as to where they are traveling to until the end of the movie.
On the other hand, Dr Harrison Copeland (Patrick Dempsey) and Julia (Jennifer Garner) make it seem as though they’re perfect for each other when really Dr. Harrison has a surgery he must leave her for.
Even though there are couples in this movie who are completely head over heels in love, some of these characters don’t enjoy this holiday such as Kelvin (Jamie Foxx) who is a sports reporter and Kara (Jessica Biel) who works in public relations. They both happen to be on the same page while not having a date for Valentine’s Day.
The young love birds in this movie are Felicia (Taylor Swift) and Willy (Taylor Lautner) as well as Grace (Emma Roberts) and her boyfriend Alex (Carter Jenkins). Grace and Alex try and plan to have sex on Valentine’s Day because it is a special day and because they are both virgins. Watching this young couple talk about sex as if it’s something that is normal for all teens to do probably changes the way all teens think of sex today.
Being known as one of the most popular country singers alive, Taylor Swift’s appearance in this movie surprised viewers and critics alike. She hasn’t had the acting experience as everyone else did in this movie. However, she played the obnoxiously loud valley girl who uses “like” in every sentence very accurately.
Anne Hathaway (Liz) has matured in her roles that she chooses as an actress. Watching her progress from The Princess Diaries to Devil Wears Prada and now to Valentine’s Day, she has blossomed into a young, mature woman. Her role in Valentine’s Day is inspiring to young women around the nation.
Overall, this movie contains a great cast who performed very well. Every character was intertwined some way or another throughout the movie and in the end, all the puzzle pieces came together. It is destined to become the go-to movie when Valentine’s Day rolls around every year.
